Just to keep you updated about what has been happening at The CVI Society. We continue to raise awareness and offer direct support to families and also to the all areas of the professional sector who may work with people with CVI. One of our trustees, along with a parent of a child with CVI, recently spoke at the residential weekend for teachers studying for the mandatory qualification in visual impairment. We have also provided In Service Training at two specialist schools for children with cerebral palsy.
Should anyone wish us to provide similar sessions please do not hesitate to get in touch, we have delivered them for Local Authorities and schools also.
Preparations are well underway for our forthcoming convention, this year being held on Friday 3rd November at Future Inns Bristol. This promises to be an exciting, informative day. Alongside professional speakers who are experts in their different fields, attendees will have the opportunity to meet our CVI Young Ambassadors and hear parent stories. We will also learn more about further research taking place. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend workshops as well as hear keynote speaker, Professor Gordon Dutton. The convention has proved to be a great opportunity for professionals and families to get together and has received wonderful feedback in the past. Please see the convention section of website if you wish to find out more and book a place.
We are having a new website built by Peroosh, who were responsible for building the CVI Scotland website, our partner organisation. This will be launched in January so watch this space!
From the CVI Society Team
The CVI Society is entirely run by people giving up their spare time to share information and support others.
If you can provide funds for the things we cannot get for free then you can help us to help others.
